Cobh Heritage Centre

The Cobh Heritage Centre, home to "The Queenstown Story" is located just a three-minute walk from the doorstep of the Commodore Hotel. Situated next to the Cobh Train Station and on the tip of Ireland's Ancient East you can immerse yourself in 5000 years of history.

The exhibition relays the story of Irish emigration from the spot where almost 3 million Irish departed between 1800 and 1970. It also tells the story of the Great Famine, transportation to Australia and the close connection that Cobh has with both the Titanic and Lusitania. It is a moving and most informative exhibition that will leave you with an emotional and unforgettable experience.

Titanic Trail Tour

Dr Michael Martin created and established the The Titanic Trail in 1998. At the time there was no historical interpretation of the area for visitors at that time. The idea was to create a daily guided walking tour that explores the heritage of Cobh in Cork Harbour which was the last port of call of RMS Titanic. It is the longest operating Titanic attraction in Ireland.

The one-hour tour takes visitors through the town where the buildings, streets and piers have not changed since the loss of Titanic in 1912.

The Titanic Trail operates every day at 11am and 2pm during peak season. It provides amazing insights into the maritime, military, and social heritage of the town and harbour.

Conducted with specially trained guides, it brings to life the story of Titanic’s brief visit to her last port of call and the story of emigration.

The Commodore hotel is the meeting point for the start of the tour.
